Questions parents ask

Is the Grade 4 (Year 5) pack right for my child?

Choose the grade your child is in now. If the placement check finds last year’s facts shaky, it suggests the support level, which has fewer problems and a gentler start. A child who is well ahead can take the stretch level or the next grade.

Does it follow the school curriculum?

It practises the number and calculation skills that curricula such as the National Curriculum in England and the US Common Core expect around Grade 4 (Year 5). It is home practice alongside school, not a replacement for lessons.

What if my child finds it too hard?

Slow down rather than push: repeat the Monday and Tuesday sheets before moving on, because Thursday and Friday are a step harder. If the level is clearly wrong after the first week, email hello@pencilpace.com within 14 days and we will remake the pack at another level for free, or refund you.

Can I see it before buying?

Yes. Print a free Grade 4 (Year 5) sample sheet at any level, with your child’s name on it. It is made by the same code as the pack, and its answers are on page 2.
